Why I bought nomination forms to contest against Tinubu –Osifo
…Says President has failed Nigeria

An Edo-born international entrepreneur, Osifo Stanley, made history on Tuesday when he braced all odds to purchase the N100 million All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential expression of interest and nomination forms to contest against the incumbent, President Bola Tinubu, in next year’s general elections.
Osifo, who took the national leadership of the ruling party by surprise spent close to two hours waiting to take delivery of the nomination forms while they engaged in frantic consultations with relevant authorities to get clearance if he should be given the forms.
Speaking to newsmen on the sidelines after obtaining the forms, Osifo denied anybody sponsoring him to pick the forms, insisting that he wants to contest because President Tinubu has not impressed Nigerians in the areas of technology, power among others.
Asked his mission buying nomination forms against Tinubu, he said: “My mission is very simple and as I said before, there are areas that Tinubu has not done well that we want to improve upon. Such areas include in the area of technology, power, among others.
“I want to also make it very clear that nobody is sponsoring me. People accused me of the same thing when I contested in 2019 against late President Buhari. I can boldly say that anybody can carry out an independent investigation to confirm if anybody is sponsoring me. I am not that kind of person anybody can sponsor to do anything,” he said.
On why he was kept for so long, he said: “they kept me for that long because the expectations of me picking the form was very low. And having picked the nomination forms, they were very surprised that they had to make consultations before giving me the forms. You also asked me the mode of primary I prefer, but it is not my responsibility to decide that. It is up to the party to make such a decision.”
