Vote buying has become Africa culture difficult to kill -APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that vote buying and selling during election have become an African culture very difficult to kill.
Justifying allegations of widespread incidents of vote buying and selling during the just concluded Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Area Council elections last weekend, a chieftain of the party and party’s Collation Centre Agent in Kuje, Jato Haruna, told newsmen that it has become a part of election in the continent.
Responding to the voter apathy, vote buying and the arrests made during the election in the Area Council, Haruna said: “Vote buying has become an African culture. It is difficult for anybody to kill a culture. That is the simple truth.”
On the incidents of over voting and use of manual accreditation, he complained earlier, he said: “We have complained about them and will still back it up with an official written complaint. However, despite that, it is very correct to conclude that the election was very fair and free.
“There has been maladministration in the Kuje Area Council but with the coming of Samuel Danjuma, there is going to be a change.
“The election was very free and fair. The biggest lesson is that we have won very fairly. We did not encounter any problem during the election because it was the most peaceful election I have ever witnessed in Kuje.”
