A 35-year old woman, Fatima Abubakar and her six children have been murdered by yet-to-be-identified attackers in Dorayi Chanchagi Quarters of Kano State.
The deceased, all of whom were members of one Haruna Bashir’s household, were attacked by unknown hoodlums who broke into their home to perpetrate the act.
It was gathered that while the woman was found in a pool of blood in her home, her youngest child was thrown into a nearby well.
In a statement on Saturday (today, January 17), the Kano State Police Public Relations Officer, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, confirmed the incident, disclosing that the victims were attacked with dangerous weapons, resulting in fatal injuries.
The statement also said upon the arrival of the police, the deceased’s bodies were evacuated and rushed to Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital Kano, where they were pronounced dead, adding that the Command, at the time of this report (5.17pm) had already launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the brutal attack.
The team of investigators led by ACP Wada Jarma, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Criminal Investigation Department (CID) was instructed to conduct a thorough investigation to bring the perpetrators to justice, the statement further explained.
Meanwhile, our findings showed that a wave of fear and tension has gripped the affected community following the violent and unprecedent attack.
