Tinubu’s allies in north fire back, says region not marginalised

Supporters of President Bola Tinubu under the banner of Arewa Youth Development Association (AYDA), have dismissed the claim that the president has neglected the region.
In a statement on Wednesday, AYDA Chairman, Jibrin Tanimu, after a two-day Interactive Programme on Government-Citizen Engagement, organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation, declared that the exercise has doused the claim of President Tinubu neglecting the region.
Tanimu said: “Moreover, the programme has effectively illuminated the fallacies propagated by certain unscrupulous political leaders who have sought to undermine the progress made under President Tinubu’s leadership.
“These individuals have falsely claimed that the North has been neglected, a narrative that this interactive session has decisively challenged.
“By facilitating constructive dialogue among various stakeholders, the event has dispelled misinformation and misconceptions surrounding government policies and actions, thereby empowering citizens with accurate information.”
Also, he commended the foundation for organising the interactive programme, describing it as a vital step toward deepening democratic governance in Nigeria.
He added that the engagement was a significant stride towards fostering a robust dialogue between citizens and their government, thereby enhancing the democratic fabric of the nation.
“As we reflect on the importance of this event, we recognize that it has provided a vital platform for citizens to engage directly with their leaders, facilitating a discourse that is essential for national development.
“The interactive programme has not only reinforced the significance of transparency and accountability in governance but has also served as a beacon of hope for the people of Northern Nigeria, who have long yearned for a more inclusive and participatory political landscape.
“At this juncture, we are particularly pleased to highlight the commendable efforts of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in addressing the pressing security concerns that have plagued our region.
“The robust measures taken to enhance security have not gone unnoticed, and this event has provided an opportunity for citizens to acknowledge the ample promises fulfilled by the President.
“The tangible improvements in safety and security are a testament to the administration’s commitment to the welfare of the North, and we are grateful for the proactive steps taken to restore peace and stability in our communities,” he added.
