Social media on fire as Tinubu, Obi, Fayemi meet at Vatican

The social media was literally on fire yesterday as President Bola Tinubu met with Labour Party Presidential candidate, Peter Obi and former Ekiti Governor, Kayode Fayemi at the installation mass of Pope Leo XIV on Sunday in Rome.
AbeyaNews reports that Fayemi noticed President Tinubu seated among other leaders and invited Obi to join him in paying homage to the Nigerian leader, to which Obi agreed.
Upon approaching the President, Fayemi initiated the conversation by saying, “Mr. President, welcome to our church, and thank you for honouring the Pope with your presence.”
President Tinubu, known for his quick wit, responded, “I should be the one welcoming you and Peter. I’m the Head of the Nigerian Delegation.”
The President’s remark elicited laughter from Obi, who concurred, saying, “Yes, indeed. We are members of your delegation.”
Both Peter Obi and Kayode Fayemi are devout Catholics and hold the distinguished title of Papal knights.
But characteristic of netizens, they went to town discussing the propriety or otherwise of the meeting of political opponents.
Leading the pack was a rabid critic of the 2023 Labour Party candidate, Reno Omokri who in his X handle wrote: “ Peter Obi all smiles as he meets President Tinubu at the Vatican. He may not have gotten to see the Pope, but at least he got to see the president.”
Also supporting Omokri’s position, @dimeji48 was more critical as he wrote: “E no go better for that bros as ego greet Jagaban cos he said they are structure of criminality lol.”
Ife Salako @ifesalakooffice wrote: “Tinubu’s greatest achievement ever since the glitch happened at INEC must be that he got a seat before PO at the Vatican today.”
Replying Omokri on his handle @Sesyde, another wrote: “He(Omokri) lives rent-free in his head. PO is the air he breads.(I am not Pos fan, but Reno is doing too much).
Another on his X handle @AdeHardemola said: “Thank God for PBAT, he was lost until Fayemi found him.”
Writing on his handle @blazeepascal, another tweet read, “Is Peter Obi your problem.”
