Professor Isiaq Oloyede charges S/West Muslims not to undermine Sultan as NSCIA leader

Muslims in the Southwest region have been warned not to engage in any activity capable of undermining the authority of the Sultan of Sokoto, Abubakar Sa’ad, as the leader of the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).
Oloyede who is the Secretary-General of the Council gave the warning at the special Ramadan Tafsir and Iftar in honour of the late parents of the Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Dr. Iziaq Kunle Salako, held in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
The Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) said Muslims in the country are one and operate under the umbrella of NSCIA headed by the Sultan of Sokoto, cautioning that challenging or subverting the leadership of the monarch by some section of Muslims in the Southwest will not augur well for unity among the adherents of Islamic faith in the country.
Oloyode recalled that all Muslims in the country unanimously agreed on the choice of the Sultan of Sokoto as their leader, urging adherents in the Southwest not to cause any issue that could cause friction between them and their northern counterparts.
The NSCIA scribe, charged Muslims in the country to unite in accordance with Quranic injunctions and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet Muhammed.
The JAMB registrar commended the Minister, Salako for organizing the event as well as his steadfastness and intellectual contribution to the NSCIA.
He described Salako as a pride to his community and Islam.
The Coordinating Minister for Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammed Ali Pate, who represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the event, enjoined Salako and his family to emulate the good deeds of their parents.
The president also prayed for divine enablement for the family to stay on the good path their late parents laid while alive.
The guest lecturer, Professor Saheed Olurotimi Timehin from Lagos State University (LASU), lauded the Minister of State for Health for organizing the programme to honour his late parents, especially in the Holy Month of Ramadan.
He equally called for the unity among Muslims and admonished them to be good to everyone irrespective of their religious beliefs, in accordance with the teachings of the Holy Prophet.
Among dignitaries who attended the event include Senator representing Ogun West, Solomon Olamilekan Adeola represented by Kayode Oladele, a former House of Representative member for Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency, Ishaq Abiodun Akinlade, House of Representatives member representing Yewa South/Ipokia Federal Constituency and Gboyega Nasiru Isiaka, House of Representatives member representing Yewa North/Imeko Afon Federal Constituency.
Others are Senator Kola Bajomo, the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Toyin Taiwo, former Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Suraju Adekunbi, former Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Commissioner for Housing in the state, Jamiu Akande Omoniyi, Commissioner for Housing and Olaolu Olabimtan, Commissioner for Budget and Planning.
