PDP vows to recover lost glory, plots to take over Kogi, Aso Rock in 2027

Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Hon. Muhammad Sanni Gambo, has declared his party’s readiness to take over Lugard House in 2027, warning that “APC’s time in Kogi is up.”

Speaking to newsmen in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital earlier today – Friday, January 9, 2026 – Gambo urged Kogi people to remain faithful to the PDP, citing the party’s strong structures, excellent coordination and grassroot support as factors that stand the party in a good stead to bounce back to reckoning.

Gambo described the APC as “people living in a rented apartment”, predicting a landslide win for PDP in a free and fair election.

He appealed for peace, lawfulness and collaboration on security, insisting that Kogi is a PDP state.

Assuring that the PDP is also working hard to take over Aso Rock come 2027, Gambo added that the party’s structures are strong across the state and Nigeria.

“Kogi is a PDP State,” he emphasized, recalling the party’s past governance as a time of prosperity in Nigeria, and claiming that people are eager for its return to power.

“Kogi people should remain faithful to PDP, stay peaceful, and support security efforts. 2027 is our time, no retreat, no surrender,” Gambo’s message read, in part. “Kogi State is a PDP State. Our structure is still everywhere in the State. If you blow the whistle anyday, anytime, in a free and fair Election, the PDP will win landslide.”

“Let me say that the time for the APC government to pack its load from Lugard House is 2027 and it is a call for no retreat, no surrender,” he stressed.

According to Gambo, the citizens of Kogi State have resolved to vote for the PDP in 2027 and expressed optimism of a victory party after the general election.

“My appeal to Kogi people is to remain faithful and supportive of the PDP. Let’s remain calm and focused. This is not a time for distraction. Let’s be peaceful and law abiding. It is unfortunate that insecurity has overwhelmed us as a people. We as a party are willing to collaborate in the area of security. This is because, there must be a State before a political party,” he argued.
