Scary: Zamfara Reps narrates how bandits fed dogs with twin babies born in captivity

The rising insecurity in Nigeria is taking a new twist as a member of the House of Representatives, from Zamfara State, Sani Jaji, has narrated how bandits in the state fed dogs with twin babies born in their captivity.
Jaji, while speaking at a press conference, on Tuesday, in Abuja, decried the escalating insecurity in the state, saying no fewer than 200 of his constituents have been kidnapped recently.
The lawmaker, who represents Kaura Namoda and Birnin Magaji federal constituency, of Zamfara State, stated that “In my constituency alone, over 200 people have been kidnapped by bandits. Two weeks ago, 60 people were abducted in Banga.
“10 of them were later killed because the community could not raise the N30 million ransom demanded by the abductors. As we were grieving, another 25 were taken from Gabake. Just yesterday, fresh attacks occurred in Kungurki”.
According to him, one of those abducted by the bandits was a pregnant woman, who gave birth in captivity and the bandits fed the new born to dogs.
“The bandits threw the newborns to dogs. The dogs ate them. That is where we are. That is the level of inhumanity we are facing”, Jaji said.
He recalled another incident where an epileptic boy was killed by a bandit because he fell during a seizure.
The lawmaker said, “the bandit demanded the boy be brought to him to be executed. The father, out of desperation, begged his son to surrender to save the rest of the family. The boy agreed and was shot dead.”
Jaji noted that regrettably, while campaigning for President Bola Tinubu, in the area, prior to the last general elections, he assured the people that their security will be top priority.
“Now, we are failing those who believed in us. Our people can’t access their farms. Their economy has collapsed. We have many internally displaced persons (IDPs) who are not even recognised by the federal or state governments.
“Zamfara, my state, used to be the most peaceful in Nigeria. Today, we are among the most ravaged. The constitution guarantees the protection of life and property, but that promise is not being kept “,he lamented.
