I won’t apologise to Senate -Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan

Kogi Central Senator, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan on Monday denied reports that she tendered an apology to the Senate over her allegations of sexual harassment against the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio.
In a terse statement, the vocal senator reaffirmed her stance, declaring that she would never apologise for speaking her truth.
“The desperation to silence me is palpable, but I will not be intimidated,” she said, dismissing the viral report of her supposed apology as false.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan, who was recently suspended for six months following a heated altercation in the Senate, described her suspension as “a clear case of political victimisation” aimed at suppressing her voice. She insisted that her allegations against Akpabio were not frivolous and vowed to persist in her pursuit of justice and accountability.
The senator had accused Akpabio of making sexual advances towards her and then victimising her for not agreeing to his proposal. The Senate, however, took disciplinary action against her for bringing the Senate to disrepute by her utterances, leading to speculation about attempts to silence dissenting voices within the upper legislative chamber.
A defiant Akpoti-Uduaghan added, “I will continue to fight for the rights of Nigerian women and ensure that our voices are heard,” she declared, urging Nigerians to disregard the reports of her alleged apology.
