Food security: Oluremi Tinubu donates tools, cash to farmers in Zamfara

The first lady of the federation, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu has donated cash and farming tools to farmers in Zamfara state under the renewed hope initiative.
Represented by the wife of Governor Dauda Lawal, Huriyya Lawal, the first lady made the donation to the group of farmers at Model Primary School, Samaru Area in Gusau, the state capital.
In her remarks, the Wife of Zamfara State Governor, Hajjiya Huriyya Lawal, highlighted the significance of the programme.
She said, “we are rebuilding hope and confidence among citizens in pursuit of a better life through these policies and programme. It is my belief that if this policy succeeds, the challenges of food security in the state and the country as a whole will be significantly alleviated; if children are raised with agricultural knowledge and skills from primary school, unemployment would be tactically addressed.
“This initiative is not just about planting crops, it’s about planting hope, building resilience, and ensuring food security for all. I urge all farmers in Zamfara State to take this initiative seriously, learn from it, and pass it on to their sons, daughters and sisters. By making farming a part of our every day’s life, we can ensure no family goes hungry”, she added.
Huriyya Lawal expressed gratitude to Senator Oluremi Tinubu for launching the visionary programmes and her husband, Governor Lawal for his dedication and commitment in constantly supporting programmes that improve lives of residents in Zamfara State.
“I will like to express my heartfelt appreciation to the Mother of our Nation, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for launching this visionary programme; I’m also grateful to my dearest husband, the Executive Governor of Zamfara State, for his consistent support and dedication to every programme that improves the lives of our citizens, His leadership has created the space for initiatives like this to thrive.”
Among the distinguished guests at the empowerment programme were the Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Malam Wadatau Madawaki; the Executive Chairman of the Zamfara State Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Nasir Garba; and the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education.
