The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Enugu State Caretaker Committee, has congratulated the State Governor, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, on his 53rd birthday.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, Agatha Agu, and Secretary, Jude Chinedu, the committee lauded Governor Mbah’s visionary leadership, unwavering dedication to good governance, and steadfast commitment to the progress and prosperity of Enugu State.
This is even as the people of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom in Awgu Local Government Area of Enugu State have also praised Governor Mbah for what the community described as “his remarkable leadership since assuming office, particularly for granting them the opportunity to have their first traditional ruler in over 24 years.”
The traditional ruler of the community, His Royal Highness, Igwe Aloysius Ogbonna, conveyed this message on Monday – today, March 17 – in a goodwill statement issued to journalists, congratulating the Governor on his 53rd birthday.
In the goodwill message signed by Agu and Chinedu, the NUJ said: “Your Excellency, as you celebrate this milestone, we acknowledge and commend your transformative leadership, which continues to re-define governance in Enugu State.
“Your administration’s bold initiatives in infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development have set a new standard for growth and innovation.”
The NUJ particularly praised the Governor’s landmark projects, including the establishment of 260 smart green schools and 260 primary healthcare centres across all political wards in the state, the ongoing urban renewal projects, the remodeling of the Presidential Hotel Enugu, the completion of the international Conference Centre, the ongoing construction of a five star hotel at the centre, the 300 bed international hospital which is under construction, and strategic efforts to boost the state’s economy through local and foreign direct investments.
“Your visionary approach to governance and relentless pursuit of excellence, have positioned Enugu State as a model of progress. We celebrate your achievements and wish you continued wisdom, strength, and success as you lead the state to greater heights.
“The NUJ Enugu Caretaker Committee joins the people of Enugu State in celebrating this special occasion and praying for God’s continued guidance and blessings upon Governor Mbah,” the statement added.

Similarly, in the Ogugu Ntu-egbenese Ancient Kingdom’s goodwill message, Igwe Ogbonna enthused that Governor Mbah’s administration has brought joy, peace, and progress to the people of Ogugu Ntu-egbenese.
He specifically acknowledged the successful conduct of their long-awaited traditional leadership election, which restored their cultural structure and strengthened unity among the people, appreciating the Governor for initiating impactful projects in the community.
Igwe Ogbonna noted that the ongoing construction of a Type 2 hospital in Ogugu Ntu-egbenese reflects the government’s focus on improving the lives of rural dwellers, expressing optimism that when completed, noted the project will greatly enhance the people’s access to healthcare.
Praying for God’s guidance and protection upon Governor Mbah, Igwe Ogbonna assured the Governor of the collective support of the Ogugu Ntu-egbenese people for his vision of repositioning Enugu State to attain greater heights in the comity of Nigerian States.
