Venatius Ikem, the Cross River State Chapter Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) says he bears nobody any grudges.
The state chairman disclosed this at the State Secretariat of the Party in Calabar while formally returning as party Chairman.
Ikem had been suspended as Chairman by the State Working Committee of the PDP last year but his suspension was nullified by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party.
Following this, some stakeholders of the party held a peace meeting with the former chairman and formally accepted to bring him back to the party.
Speaking while formally resuming his duties, Ikem also promised to change his ways and said what happened to him should serve as a lesson to party men that they can fall and rise again.
“Thank you all for bringing our party back to the path of unity and sanity. I’m overwhelmed by the reception and want to thank you from the bottom of my heart.
“I’ve consulted widely with party leaders and I bear nobody any grudge.
“I promise you that I will change my ways and believe me, we will do a lot of things differently.
” Let what happened to me, my going and coming back be a lesson that we can fall and rise again.
“Our party may have fallen, but has not fallen completely, only stumbling. We will rise again to take our rightful place in the state and country,” he said.
