Borno: APC Stakeholders reaffirm loyalty to Tinubu, Zulum
Major stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Borno State on Sunday reaffirmed their support and loyalty to President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima and Gov. Babagana Zulum.
The stakeholders who made the declaration at a critical meeting, organised by the governor in Maiduguri also pledged their continued commitment to the ideals of the party.
AbeyaNews reports that the reaffirmation of their loyalty was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting and signed by APC state’s Chairman and his Secretary, Bello Ayuba, and Mustapha Loskuri.
The critical stakeholders also expressed their unwavering support for Tinubu/Shettima’s presidency and urged Shettima to remain loyal and continue to promote their administration’s policies.
They also expressed confidence in Zulum’s leadership and charged him to remain focused on the recovery and development of the state.
The critical stakeholders further reaffirmed Borno’s position as a Progressives APC state and discouraged deviation from the party’s principles and manifesto.
They resolved that Borno should remain in the APC with no plans for merger or change of political party.
The APC’s critical stakeholders urged the party members to avoid actions that could tarnish the image of the APC and pledged to uphold the unity and solidarity that define Borno’s political landscape.
They also called on APC national leadership to strengthen internal democracy and party structures to retain political dominance.
The stakeholders, however, dismissed attempts by certain elements within the party to sow discord and reiterated the state’s commitment to party unity.
They urged the Federal Government to continue its support for development and security initiatives in Borno.
The stakeholders appealed to President Tinubu to sustain oil exploration in the North-east, particularly in Kolmani and around Lake Chad, and invest in road infrastructure to boost security and economic growth in the region.
They expressed optimism in the continued leadership of the APC at both state and national levels, saying Borno would remain firmly aligned with the party’s vision.
AbeyaNews reports that the meeting was attended by prominent party leaders including the APC Deputy National Chairman (North), Ali Bukar Dalori; Senate Chief Whip and Sen. representing Borno North, Mohammed Tahir Monguno; Sen. Mohammed Ali Ndume and Sen. Kaka Shehu Lawan; members of the House of Representatives, former governor Sen. Maina Ma’aji Lawan, and former Ambassadors, Alhaji Baba Ahmed Jidda (China) and Dauda Danladi (Pakistan).
Also in attendance were the Speaker and members of the Borno State House of Assembly, former deputy governors, members of National Assembly, APC state Chairman and executive members, Secretary to the State Government, Head of Service, Commissioners, Special Advisers, Local Government Chairmen, among other critical stakeholders in the state.
