Bishop Godfrey Onah to Speak on Moral Integrity at CBU 21st Annual Lecture

The Catholic Bishop of Nsukka Diocese, His Lordship, Most Reverend Godfrey Onah, will deliver the keynote address at the 21st Annual Lecture of the Catholic Brothers United (CBU), scheduled to hold on Saturday, July 20, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Maryland, Lagos.

The highly anticipated lecture, themed “Moral Integrity: Fortress of a Healthy Nation,” will reflect on the ethical foundations necessary for good governance and national development.

Bishop Onah, widely respected for his theological depth, cultural insight, and eloquence, is expected to draw from his years of experience as a scholar and spiritual leader to offer a profound perspective on Nigeria’s moral challenges. His teachings have inspired audiences across denominational lines in Nigeria and abroad, earning him a reputation for courage, humility, and unwavering commitment to truth.

“Whether in the pulpit, the classroom, or the public square, Bishop Onah speaks with a voice that challenges the mind, stirs the heart, and uplifts the soul,” organizers said in a statement.

The CBU Annual Lecture, considered the flagship event of the association, has consistently attracted prominent national figures in past editions. Previous guest speakers include Archbishop Alfred Adewale Martins, Senator Adams Oshiomhole, Donald Duke, Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Bishop Matthew Kukah, Chris Ngige, Femi Falana, and Olisa Agbakoba, among others.

This year’s event will also feature an array of dignitaries including Dr. Emmanuel Ojibo, who will serve as Chairman of the Occasion; Sir Mike Ogbechie as Father of the Day; and Chief Dame Carol Nwazojie (MON) as Mother of the Day. Also expected is Very Reverend Father Anthony Fadairo, the Episcopal Vicar of Ikeja Region and Host Parish Priest.

Chairman of the CBU 21st Annual Lecture Planning Committee, Dr. Fred Anigbogu, assured that this year’s gathering will be impactful.

“This year’s lecture brings together credible personalities of high moral values across Nigeria to discuss the way forward for our nation,” he said, adding, “Our aim is to promote good governance anchored on a strong ethical foundation.”
