2027: APC youths ‘ll intimidate Obidient Movement -Dayo Israel, Natl youth leader

By John Okezie

The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dayo Israel, has dismissed the possibilities of the Obidient Movement posing any form of threat to the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.

Israel, spoke at a press conference in Abuja while parading newsmen around the newly-built APC Youth Resource Centre office on Wednesday.

He warned that the APC youths will actually intimidate the Obidient Movement and show them that APC youth wing stands very strong and will match them strength for strength.

Asked if the domineering influence of the Obidient Movement will pose serious threat to Tinubu’s re-election, he said: “I think the reality is that there is no institution that is rising as fast as the APC national youth wing. This place, where you are sitting today, is an example.”

“We are prepared. The youths of our party are now ready to take things on. We have, what we have here is equivalent to some political party’s national secretariat. It shows the importance of, we, the youth wing of the APC, how we want to be ready for 2027 election.

“We are not scared of anybody. We say to them, bring it on. We will show you that our president has done so much that we will now begin to project and communicate in the way the youth understand to ensure that the Nigerian youth can appreciate the effort and the work of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“So, we are not intimidated by anybody. We are here to actually intimidate them and show them that APC youth wing, we stand gidi-gbah!”.

Disclosing further the readiness of the youth wing of the ruling party, Israel warned that the APC youths cannot afford to lose Nigerian youths to the opposition parties ahead of the forthcoming presidential poll.

He added that the mission is to ensure that they re-energise their youths to ensure President Tinubu’s re-election.

On how they intend to cascade the programme to the grassroots, Dayo said: “We have a national youth leader, by the grace of God, myself. I have a deputy. We have the zonal youth leaders in the six political zones. We have 36 state youth leaders.

“We have, they have deputies. We have 109 senatorial youth leaders. We have 774 local government youth leaders and other LCDA youth leaders. We have 8,864 ward youth leaders and over 100,000 polling unit youth leaders.

“So, part of what we want to begin is to energise that base, to begin to engage them from the headquarters. We want to, that’s why we are setting up an operational system that will begin to run training for our youths in the grassroots.

“When you have all of those structures in place and you are activating those structures, you are also empowering them”, he said.
