The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has declared itself the dominant political force in the state, with leaders vowing to reclaim the Agodi Government House and deliver President Bola Tinubu a second term in 2027.
Former Senate Leader and Oyo State Ambassador for Renewed Hope, Senator Teslim Folarin, made the declaration at the grand finale of the 14-Federal Constituency Tour in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, describing the constituency as an APC stronghold.
He attributed the party’s loss in the last year’s federal constituency by-election to internal division, but insisted that the tide has now turned, with the party united and ready to reclaim its strongholds.
“The division within our party led to PDP’s fluke victory. Today, we are united and ready to deliver Tinubu and dislodge the dead PDP from Agodi in 2027,” Folarin declared.
The APC leader claimed that a mass exodus is currently hitting the PDP and other opposition parties, with hundreds of members defecting to the APC, citing good governance and inclusive leadership as reasons for their decision.
Former First Lady of Oyo State, Dr. Florence Ajimobi; Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu; and Senator Sharafadeen Alli (Oyo South) also spoke at the event
Ajiimobi commended party leaders and members for sustaining unity and rebuilding confidence across grassroots structures.
She urged for continued discipline and strong organisation as preparations intensify ahead of 2027.
Adelabu said the Tinubu administration has recorded enough achievements to merit another four-year mandate, calling on residents to support the APC to sustain the path of progress.
Senator Alli, who was the Chief host, described the unity and peace rally as the ‘tip of the iceberg’ of the growing support base for President Tinubu. He assured that the party is set to secure the president’s re-election, reclaim the governorship seat in Oyo State, and win other elective positions.
The event was marked by a wave of defections, with hundreds of members from the PDP and Labour Party joining the APC, led by former Council Chairman Hon. Yusuf Shuab and former PDP Local Government Chairman Hon. Seun Adelore.
