Sule Lamido hints on dumping PDP

Former Governor of Jigawa State, Sule Lamido, on Monday in Kano, hinted at the prospect of entering into alliance with politicians from outside the People Democratic Party
(PDP) if the current efforts aimed at ending the crisis rocking the party failed.
Addressing party’s stakeholders from Jigawa State in his office, Lamido stressed that he remained a loyal party member pending the outcome of the party’s crucial meeting billed to hold at the end of December 2025.
He regretted that the current crisis rocking the party has remained for so long and has eroded the party’s once impressive supporters base while noting that several efforts made to resolve issues have been unsuccessful. He was, however, optimistic that the forthcoming meeting will resolve the issues.
He told the meeting that several party leaders were working tirelessly to end the crisis and move the party forward. Lamido also informed them of his consultations with key stakeholders including his meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo.
He urged them to remain patient while assuring those who intended to aspire for elective positions in the next year that they would have a platform upon which to contest.
“The gathering was convened to allay your fears and anxiety and to assure those of you wishing to contest for elective positions that you will surely have a platform to contest your ambitions”, he stated.
The meeting was attended by top members of the party in the state, including all the Commissioners, the 27 LG chairman and 30 lawmakers who served under Lamido’s administration in the state.
