Plateau: Fulani organisation seeks rescue of 60 rustle cows, safe return of herders

The coalition of Fulani registered organizations, Bokkos Local Government Chapter has called on the security agencies to rescue about 60 cows said to have been rustled at Murish area of Mangu local government area of Plateau State.
The Chairman of the Coalition, Bokkos Chapter, Malam Sale Yusuf Adamu in a statement on Friday made available to Newsmen disclosed that four other cows were injured at Chirang, Mongor in Bokkos as the whereabouts of the herder is still not known to them.
The statement reads in path, “The coalition of Fulani registered organizations, Bokkos Local Government Chapter wish to bring to the notice of the security, government (Federal, State and Local Governments) cases of cow injuring at Chirang, Mongor in Bokkos Local government area where four cows were injured while peacefully grazing on grazing field on Tuesday, April 8, 2025.
“Also is the rustling of about 60 cows on Wednesday, 9th April, 2025 at Murish in Mangu Local Government belonging to Alh Sulaiman Musa and Alh Hudu (Habane) Adamu. Malam Abdullahi Sulaiman (one of the herders) was taken by the rustlers with the cows and was taken to Mangun, Ampang, Kerang, Kwambun and Panyam general area.
“We therefore call on the security and the government at all levels to help secure their release and return them to their rightful owners, arrest and prosecute the perpetrators, take measures to prevent reoccurrence of such an ugly act”, he noted.
The organisation called on the owners of the cows to be law abiding even as they look up to the security agencies to do their diligence in rescuing the herder unhurt.
“As we put trust in the security to bring out the rustled cows and the herder (Malam Abdullahi) intact and in good health, we are calling on the owners of the cows and our people to continue to be law abiding and desist from any act capable of disrupting peace in the area.
“We are calling on the Fulani people to be on the watch while herding for any suspicious move and report same to the appropriate authorities for prompt intervention”, he stated.
The Plateau State police command when contacted on the development through the Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Alfred Alabo said the command is not certain if the writers might have launched their complaint with any of the Police division for further investigation as at the time of this report.
