Mbaitoli IMC boss kicks off rural roads rehabilitation

Mr. John Eke, the Interim Management Committee Chairman, Mbaitoli, has commenced community road maintenance across the 12 wards in the Local Government Area.
The project which commenced on Thursday had workers present at Awo Mbieri/Ikeduru road, and other community access roads within Awo Mbieri and Achi areas.
Eke disclosed that the project would touch every autonomous community in Mbaitoli.
Noting that good road network encourages productivity, Eke said good condition of roads in the council was his priority.
He revealed that the ongoing road maintenance in Mbaitoli would encourage economic activities and boost the LGA’s internally generated revenue.
He said: “We will not wait for the raining season to be over before we fix the roads. We have started the project and it will touch every autonomous community in the LGA. Some communities have been cut off from others because of bad roads. This we shall fix to encourage trade and interaction between communities.”
The IMC boss said he was working with the state government to deliver dividends of democracy to the grassroot.
He thanked the governor for approving some road projects in Mbaitoli, which he said will commence soon.
