Homosexuality: Five persons arrested in Kano for ‘sexual perversion’

Five persons have been arrested by the police in Kano for their alleged involvement in homosexual activities in the state.

A statement signed by the Police Relations Officer, Haruna Abdullahi Kiyawa earlier today listed the suspects as Ahmed Inuwa, aged 34 and of Sharada Quarters, Nasiru Isyaku Mohd, aged 48and of Diso Quarters and Lawan Uba, aged 31of Kofar Dan Agundi Quarters, Kano..

Others are Auwalu Uba, aged 40 of Mandawari Quarters and Rabiu Sharu, aged 33 of Kabuga Quarters in Gwale Local Government Area.

According to the police statement, the accused “had deceived and lured one Tajuddeen Hassan to various places where they had anal sex with him on several occasions.”

The statement noted that repeated anal sex over time had injured the victim and led to his having serious stomach pains, adding, however, that upon the receipt of the report of the sexual molestation meted out to the victim, he was rushed to Muhammadu Abdullahi Wase Teaching Hospital, Kano where he was treated and discharged.

The suspects were arrested by a team of policemen raised by the Kano State Commissioner of Police, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikkol raised and instructed to arrest the culprits within 48 hours.

AbeyaNews reports that upon preliminary investigation, all the suspects confessed to the offence while one of the suspects, Rabiu Sharbu further confessed to be the first person to have lured the teenager and had an anal sex with him.

According to the statement, the suspects would be charged to court upon completion of investigation.
