The last may not have been heard of the crises bedeviling the University of Lagos as indications emerged yesterday, that the embattled former Vice Chancellor (VC) of the institution, Professor Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, removed on Wednesday is heading to court to challenge his removal from office.
AbeyaNews confirmed this via a tweet by constitutional lawyer and human rights Activist, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), saying that Ogundipe has indeed briefed him.
Professor Ogundipe had earlier in a notice stated that his announced removal was untrue as he remained the VC.
Mr Ogundipe was removed at the Council’s meeting held Wednesday at the headquarters of the National Universities Commission, Abuja.
In attendance were at least 11 council members including the embattled VC, majority of whom, voted for the removal of Mr Ogundipe.
Mr Ogundipe was accused of financial impropriety and gross misconduct.
