2021: APC set to sack APGA from Anambra, says Onunkwo

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Johnbosco Onunkwo is confident that the 2021 governorship election in Anambra State will be APC’s to lose.
He said the ruling party in the State, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has reached its zenith in terms of performance and has nothing any more to offer the people of Anambra State.
Speaking when he paid a solidarity visit tothe Mai Mala Buni-led APC Caretaker/ Extraordinary Convention Committee, Chief Onunkwo who aspired for the ticket of the party in 2017 said APC had used the last four years to reach out to the grassroots and is now poised to take over the reins of power in Anambra State.
“APC in Anambra is doing everything humanly possible to take over that place they call Ugwuoka, because APGA, the leadership of Willie Obiano has done what they know best; it is running at the highest capacity. I can tell you he is working at his height , APC is coming in to give a digital leadership. APGA has tried but I can tell you that there are areas they didn’t do well. There are areas that need improvement.
“If you are familiar with Anambra State, if you have travelled to Anambra five, six years ago and then three years ago and you go now, you will notice that there is no much difference.
“In terms of infrastructural development, the State seems stagnant and that is one major area that APC will focus on,” he said .
He enjoined members of the APC to lend support to the caretaker committee in the ongoing efforts to rebuild the party.
“I don’t enjoin other party faithful for all of us to come together to strengthen our party, to make it more formidable, to make it more cohesive for the battle ahead. Because we have to be ready to ensure that we not only achieve our dreams but also make sure that sustainability is assured for generations yet unborn,” he said.
